A Chance to Run, Inc is a 501c3 nonprofit community service foundation aiming to get kids active and interested in the sport of Track and Field. The organization was founded by Alexis Behne Sharma, a graduate of Pine View School in the summer of 2014.  Now attending UC Berkeley, Alexis handed the reigns to her sister Allison who is expanding the program with additional camps during winter & summer breaks and is planning the first A Chance to Run 5K to support local Track Clubs.  “My goal is to build upon my sisters’ legacy and provide opportunities for kids to run and stay healthy while learning about the sport of Track & Field.”   shares Allison.  “Running is fun and one of the few sports that does not require a lot money to participate.”  Allison runs on her local high school Cross Country and Track & Field Teams and competes in AAU for a local Track Club.  She has competed in AAU Cross Country Nationals and 2018 Junior Olympics.

The program is free of charge and is coached by local high school athletes under the direction of certified Track & Field volunteer coaches.  All funds to support the program are raised by private donors, local fundraisers and community grants.  If you like to help, please donate through our link at the top of our home page.
