About Us

A Chance to Run, Inc. is a 501c3 non-profit foundation whose mission is to provide opportunities for youth to run and stay fit through the sport of Track & Field.  Kasumi Wade is the current Director of A Chance to Run.  Kasumi, a rising Senior at Pine View High School runs for both her Cross Country and Track Teams at Sarasota High School and is a major contributor to the 4A Cross Country State Championship winning team.  Kasumi has not only been a participant of A Chance to Run from our first camp but also a Lead Counselor throughout high school.  She has been integral in planning and managing our Free Summer Camps and Girls Inc Programs.

FREE Track & Field Summer Camps

A Chance to Run holds Track & Field Camps that are provided free of charge through community donations & grants. The camps are directed by local high school athletes under the direction of certified & experienced volunteer coaches. 

 

 

Community Support to local Running Teams & Activities

We support local non profit programs such as:

  • girls inc Run Club
  • Potential U, college mentoring for underrepresented athletes
  • Riverview High School Track Program
  • Pine View Middle School Track Program
  • Python Run-Pine View 5K
  • Sarasota High School Track and Cross Country Programs
  • AMP Athletics AAU Track Club
  • Kids Love to Run Club for Elementary Students

 “My goal is to expand the program to provide opportunities throughout the Sarasota and Manatee county area for kids to come out and try Track & Field as a sport.” shares Kasumi.  “This fall, I hope to continue our run club at Girls Inc and come up with creative ideas for kids to get and remain active safely during the summer!” she further comments.
